What do we do?
As a Community Council, we are the first tier of statutory representation in Scotland.
We bridge the gap between local authorities and communities, thereby ensuring that public authorities are aware of the needs and opinions of the Stranraer, Ochtrelure and Belmont community. giving the community a voice.
How do we do it?
We articulate the views and concerns of Stranraer, Ochtrelure and Belmont residents on a wide range of issues of public concern, and making representations to Dumfries & Galloway Council, Scottish Government and other public sector bodies within or affecting Stranraer, Ochtrelure and Belmont Community Council’s area of representation.
Grants are available for community groups
benefitting people in Stranraer Town.
Groups can apply for up to £500 for projects that improve
the area or that benefit resident of Stranraer.
